Magai v3 is Here: This AI Platform Changes Everything
Find your way around Magai: pick a model and agent, attach files, videos and web pages, reuse saved prompts, improve a prompt, manage chats and media, and reach settings and support.
What you will learn
- Switch the active model from the picker in the prompt box
- Attach files, video links and web pages for context
- Save prompts you repeat and insert them in one click
- Use the prompt improve button to rewrite a prompt for your model
- Organize chats in folders and media in collections
- Open the account menu for workspaces, usage and support
The session as a written tutorial. Each section’s minute plays the video from there.
By the end of this walkthrough you will know where everything lives in Magai and what each control in the prompt box does. You will be able to choose a model, attach context, reuse prompts, and keep your chats and media organized.
If you have used any AI chat app, the basics are the same: you type into the input box in the middle of the page and the AI responds. The difference is in the controls around that box, and knowing them saves you time on every conversation.
0:00 Start with the prompt box
The input box in the middle of the page is where you talk to the AI. Everything else in this walkthrough is a way to make what you type there work better.
0:34 Pick a model and a persona
- Click the AI model picker in the bottom right corner of the prompt box.
- Browse the models, which span different capabilities and costs, or type a name in the search box.
- Narrow the list with the capability selector if you want models that do a particular thing.
- Click a model and it becomes active in the conversation.
Personas give the active model its instructions. Magai ships with pre-made ones. To make your own, click new persona, add a name, a description, and the instructions it should follow. Select a persona and it is applied to the model in that chat.
1:37 Dictate instead of typing
Use the dictation button to speak your prompt with the record feature.
1:45 Attach files, videos and web pages
Click the attach button to see your options:
- Attach a file.
- Attach a video link. Paste the URL and press enter. YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn and most other internet videos work, and Magai fetches the transcript to attach to your prompt.
- Attach a web page. Any publicly accessible URL works, and Magai attaches the page content as context.
2:34 Turn on tools and integrations
Under the attach button you will find integrations. Some are tools the AI can use beyond writing text, such as web search, image generation and the canvas. You can also connect services like Gmail and Calendar. Open the manage integrations tab to see everything built into Magai.
3:03 Save prompts you reuse
- Click new prompt.
- Pick the type of prompt.
- Add a title if you want one.
- Type the prompt and click create prompt.
It now sits in your list. Add it to a folder, or insert it into the prompt box in one click.
3:33 Improve a prompt before you send it
Once you type something, a new button appears for improving your prompt. It rewrites your prompt for the model you are using, so you do not have to engineer it yourself. Try a weak prompt:
I need a blog post about turtles.
Click that button and within seconds you get a more detailed, optimized version. It works for language, image and video models, and detects the intent of your prompt automatically.
4:30 Manage your chat history
The sidebar lists your previous chats. Expand it for a bigger view, and collapse it when you are done. From there you can:
- Import chats from ChatGPT or Claude.
- Create folders and start new chats.
- Sort by folders, chats, archived or unarchived.
- Select chats in bulk and act on all of them.
The three dot button on a folder or chat lets you rename, pin, add to a folder, share, archive or delete it. Clicking a chat opens it instantly.
5:33 Browse images and videos in the media gallery
The sidebar also opens the media gallery with everything you generated. To make a collection, click new, name it, and drag images or videos into it. Click any image to see the details of how it was generated.
6:05 Use the account menu
In the bottom left corner you can switch teams, change workspace, and check how much of your monthly usage limit you have consumed. It also leads to account settings and the billing and subscription page, where you see your current plan.
6:38 Get help
Click the support button to open the live chat widget on the right. Search the help center, read its links, or message the team, who reply as soon as they can.
7:00 Shortcuts and dark mode
The account menu also opens a keyboard shortcuts window listing every shortcut in Magai. A switch there flips between dark and light mode.
Open Magai, pick a model, attach a web page or video link, and try the prompt improve button on a prompt you use often. Then save the result as a prompt.

Hey friend, in this video I'm going to walk you through Magi and how to navigate through the app so that you get the absolute most out of it. So, if you've ever used a chat app before, you'll know that in the middle of the page, you'll find an input box. And in that input box, you can type something to the AI and the AI will respond accordingly. And that's how Magi works, the exact same way that every other AI chat app works, but with a few benefits.
- 0:27
Now, in Magi's prompt box, we have a few different options for you to help make your AI experience a little bit more fine-tuned. Now, the first thing I want to bring your attention to is in the bottom right hand corner, you'll see an AI model picker. Now, you can click on this button and you'll instantly get a selection of the top AI models across a variety of different capabilities and costs. You can browse through, find the AI model that you're looking for. You can type in the search box if you're looking for one in particular, or you can even filter the models by their
- 0:58
capabilities using the capability selector. When you find the model that you're looking for, just click on it. And now that model is active in the conversation. Now, personas, we'll get into in a different video, but suffice to say, this is how you give your AI superpowers. Magi comes with a selection of pre-made personas that you can select from, or you can create your own by clicking the new persona, adding a name, a description, and whatever instructions you need that persona to follow. Simply select the persona that you're looking
- 1:31
for, and now that persona is given to the active AI model in the chat. Now, the next item you'll find inside the prompt box is the dictation button. If you'd rather speak than type your prompt, you can do that by using the record feature. Next up in the prompt box is our attach button. If you click on the attach button, you'll see you get a variety of options here. You can attach a file, you can attach a video link. Let's say you have a YouTube video that you want to give the AI context for. Just paste the link in here. Hit enter
- 2:04
and the YouTube video will be automatically attached to your prompt. The video link accepts all types of videos, YouTube, Instagram, Tik Tok, LinkedIn, uh pretty much any type of internet video you can find. You can add it as a video link and Magi will go and fetch the transcript for that video to attach to your prompt. You can also attach any web page, any URL that you can find publicly accessible on the internet. Magi can attach the content of that web page to your prompt, giving it all the context it needs for that given page. Next up, under the attachment button, you'll find we have
- 2:37
integrations. And some of these integrations include things like web search or image generation or the canvas. Uh these are tools that the AI can have access to in order to do things for you outside of normal text generation. You can even connect integrations such as Gmail, calendar. Click on the manage integrations tab and you'll see a whole load of uh integrations that we have pre-built into Magi. Lastly, under the attachments menu, we have saved prompts. If you have prompts that you use over and over again, you can save them here simply by
- 3:09
clicking new prompt, picking what type of prompt it is. Give it a title if you need to, and then type your saved prompt. Once you're finished entering the prompt, hit create prompt, and now it's saved to your list. You can add it to a folder or in a single click, you can add it to the prompt box, making it super easy to reuse prompts that you find yourself using over and over again.
- 3:32
Now, the last thing I'll point out here inside the prompt box is once you type a prompt, you'll notice that a new button appears, and that's the enhance button. This enhance button is built to save you from having to engineer your own optimal prompts. Our engine has been trained on what a good AI prompt is. And no matter what model you're using, it will optimize your prompt for that model. For example, if you've got a prompt here that says, "I need a blog post about turtles." That's not the best prompt in the world. It can probably use a little
- 4:04
help. So, you can hit the enhance button and in a matter of seconds, the AI is going to craft for you a highly engineered and optimized prompt that will yield a much better result. And this works across language models, image models, and video models. It automatically detects the intent of your prompt, and it crafts the most optimal version of that prompt for you. Now, just showing you around the rest of the app. I wanted to show you the sidebar here. Uh you have your list of chats that you can click on and see the
- 4:36
history of your previous chats. From there, you can expand that view if you really want a bigger view of all those chats. Uh from here, you have an import button to bring in your chat GPT or clawed chats. You can create folders, you can start new chats, you can sort by folders, chats, all archived, unarchived. You can uh select in bulk and do perform bulk actions on all of your chats. And if you don't need that view, you can always collapse it back
- 5:07
again. Uh from here, you can click on the three dot button and get some additional options for whatever that item is, whether that's a folder or whether it's a regular chat. You can rename it, pin it, add it to a folder, share or archive it, or delete it. When you click on a chat, you instantaneously move to that chat without having to load any pages. It's just instantaneous. From that same sidebar, you also have access to any previous videos or images you generated in our media gallery. So, you
- 5:39
can browse through all of your images and videos. You can even add them to collections. Uh, creating a collection is super easy. Just hit the new button, give it a name, and then you can drag images or videos right into that collection and when you click on an image, you have all the detailed information about that image so that you can see and reference exactly how that image was generated. Also in the sidebar on the left is your account menu. In the bottom lefthand corner, you'll find that you have options to uh switch your team. If you have multiple
- 6:14
teams that you are a part of, you can change your workspace if you are if you've created multiple workspaces in your Magi account. You can instantly view your monthly usage and how much you've consumed of your monthly uh usage limits. You can visit your account settings. You can access the billing and subscription page where you can view information about your current plan.
- 6:38
And from this menu, you also have access to our support team. Just click on the support button. uh live chat widget will pop up on the right and that's where you can find uh links to our help center. You can search our help center. You can send our team a message and they'll try to reply as soon as possible. And just a few last things here on the account menu. You have a keyboard shortcuts window that you can pop up to see all the available keyboard shortcuts throughout Magi.
- 7:07
You have a dark mode switch here. So if you like dark mode, you can flip over to that. or if you'd prefer light mode, you can flip back and forth between the two. And those are the basics of navigating around the Magi app. And that's about all we're going to cover in this video. Just wanted to get you used to navigating around and understanding where all the most important features are inside of Magi. There are many more things to cover and we will cover those in additional videos. Until then, enjoy using Magi and we'll see you
